What is Salsa Macha?
At its simplest, salsa macha is an oil-based Mexican condiment made from dried chiles, garlic, nuts, seeds, and oil. But that description barely scratches the surface.
Unlike the tomato-based salsas most Americans picture when they hear the word "salsa," there are no tomatoes here. No tomatillos. No cilantro. Instead, you get a thick, rust-colored oil packed with crunchy bits of fried chiles, toasted peanuts, sesame seeds, and garlic — sometimes with pumpkin seeds, dried fruit, or even a touch of vinegar or piloncillo (Mexican brown sugar) for balance.
The result is a condiment that's simultaneously smoky, nutty, sweet, spicy, and deeply crunchy. It's shelf-stable, doesn't need refrigeration, and the flavor actually improves over time as the ingredients meld in the oil.

Is Mucha Macha spicy?
It has a warm, smoky heat — not a face-melter. We use pulla and chile de árbol chiles, which bring flavor and warmth without overwhelming your palate. The peanuts, seeds, and brown sugar balance it out with nuttiness and a touch of sweetness. Most people who enjoy a medium salsa will be right at home.
What does Salsa Macha taste like?
Mucha Macha is like the cool friend at every dinner table. It’s got mellow garlic vibes, peanutty goodness, and a little sweet-tangy burst from balsamic. Then, just when you think you’ve got it figured out—boom! A pop of fruity heat from those chiles. It’s tasty, easygoing, and never steals the spotlight from your meal.
What are the ingredients?
100% olive oil, garlic, raw peanuts, balsamic vinegar, pumpkin seeds, sesame seeds, kosher salt, dried pulla chiles, brown sugar, and dried chile de árbol. That's it — no preservatives, no artificial flavors, no filler.
Is Mucha Macha vegan?
Yes! Mucha Macha is 100% plant-based. We use olive oil, dried chiles, peanuts, seeds, garlic, and a touch of brown sugar — no dairy, eggs, honey, or animal products of any kind.
Does Mucha Macha contain allergens?
Mucha Macha contains peanuts and sesame seeds. It is produced in a shared commercial kitchen that may also process other allergens including tree nuts, wheat, soy, and eggs.
Is Mucha Macha gluten-free?
Yes. None of our ingredients contain gluten. Our salsa macha is produced in a shared commercial kitchen, so if you have celiac disease or a severe gluten sensitivity, please be aware of that.
Is Mucha Macha keto-friendly?
Yes. A serving of Mucha Macha has just a few grams of carbs, mostly from peanuts, seeds, and a small amount of brown sugar. It fits comfortably within a keto or low-carb diet.
How long does it last?
Unopened, Mucha Macha has a shelf life of several months stored in a cool, dry place. Once opened, keep it refrigerated and use within 4–6 weeks for the best flavor and texture.
Does Mucha Macha need to be refrigerated?
It's shelf-stable thanks to the oil base and dried ingredients, so it's fine in the pantry before opening. After opening, we recommend storing it in the fridge where it'll keep for several weeks. The flavor actually gets better as it sits.
